A legendary partnership is making its return to the world of stock car racing. Dale Earnhardt Jr., a NASCAR Hall of Famer, is set to get back behind the wheel of the iconic No. 8 Chevrolet, sporting the unmistakable Budweiser paint scheme.
A Blast from the Past
This reunion marks the first time in 17 years that the “Bud King of Beers” paint scheme will be seen on the track. Earnhardt’s storied history with Budweiser dates back to 1999, when he first started driving the No. 8 car. Over the years, the duo has shared some unforgettable moments, including 26 wins in the NASCAR Cup Series and two Daytona 500 victories in 2004 and 2014.
A Legendary Partnership Revived
Earnhardt, now 50, expressed his excitement about reuniting with Budweiser, stating, “It’s an incredible opportunity for me to be able to reunite with Budweiser and the No. 8. We’ve always supported each other over the years, and it’s going to be really special for me to be able to represent that brand on the racetrack again.”
A New Chapter in Sports History
Matt Davis, vice president of partnerships at Anheuser-Busch, echoed Earnhardt’s sentiments, saying, “There are names that when mentioned, draw on the significance of their place in American history. Among them, Budweiser and Earnhardt. This return to the racetrack alongside Dale with the Bud King of Beers paint scheme is another chapter in Anheuser-Busch’s long and storied sports history.”
The Road Ahead
Earnhardt’s first outing in the No. 8 car will take place on November 23 at the South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway. This limited series of late model stock car races will continue into 2025, giving fans a chance to relive the magic of this iconic partnership.
