Cowboys’ Star Pass Rusher Micah Parsons Faces Uncertain Return
After missing two games with a high left ankle sprain, Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons is eager to get back on the field. However, his return remains uncertain, and the decision will ultimately come down to himself, the medical staff, and coaches.
A Challenging Time for Parsons
Parsons suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the Cowboys’ victory against the New York Giants on September 26. The team managed to win without him against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5 but struggled in the second game he missed, losing 47-9 to the Detroit Lions.
The experience has been humbling for Parsons, who has never missed games due to injury before. “It’s kind of one of those things where you wish you were out there with your brothers, whether it’s good or bad,” he said. “Especially during the hard times, because that builds the relationship, that builds the brotherhood.”
Progress and Reflection
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his return, Parsons remains optimistic. “I don’t think there’s anything I can’t do physically,” he said. “It’s just more they want to make sure I’m at my best.” Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that Parsons is “making progress,” but did not provide a clear timeline for his return.
The time off has given Parsons an opportunity to reflect on his game and how he can improve. “It’s been a challenging time for me, and it’s been a lot of time for me to reflect on myself and how I can get better,” he said. “What things I can do to help this team get better.”
A Decision Looms
As the Cowboys prepare to face the San Francisco 49ers, Parsons’ status remains uncertain. While he is eager to return, the decision will ultimately come down to the medical staff and coaches. “My hopes are always very high,” Parsons said. “I love great challenges. I love being able to beat the odds.”
For now, Parsons will continue to work with the training staff, and the Cowboys will monitor his progress closely. As the team looks to bounce back from their bye week, the return of their star pass rusher would be a welcome boost.
