Jaguars Lose Travis Etienne Jr. to Injury: What’s Next for the Team?

Jaguars Sidelined: Travis Etienne Jr. to Miss London Matchup

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without star running back Travis Etienne Jr. for their Sunday matchup against the New England Patriots in London. A hamstring injury, sustained during last week’s loss to the Chicago Bears, has landed Etienne on the inactive list.

A Silver Lining: Tyson Campbell Returns

Despite Etienne’s absence, the Jaguars have some reason to celebrate. Cornerback Tyson Campbell is set to make his return from injured reserve after missing five games due to a hamstring injury of his own. Campbell’s comeback is a welcome boost to the team’s defense.

Rushing to Fill the Gap

With Etienne sidelined, second-year player Tank Bigsby and veteran D’Ernest Johnson will share the workload against the Patriots. Bigsby, who leads the Jaguars in rushing with 297 yards, is averaging an impressive 7.2 yards per carry – a league-best. He is likely to take on the majority of the work.

Patriots Get a Boost

Meanwhile, the Patriots will welcome back running back Rhamondre Stevenson, who missed last week’s loss to the Houston Texans due to a foot injury. Stevenson’s return adds depth to the Patriots’ offense.

Etienne’s Season So Far

Before his injury, Etienne had rushed for 230 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching 16 passes for 91 yards this season. His absence will be felt, but the Jaguars are confident that Bigsby and Johnson can fill the gap.
