Dolphins Quarterback Woes Continue with Tyler Huntley Injury
The Miami Dolphins’ quarterback struggles took another hit on Sunday, as Tyler Huntley left the game against the Indianapolis Colts with a right shoulder injury. He will not return to the field.
Huntley’s departure marked the latest setback for the Dolphins, who have been plagued by instability at the quarterback position all season. The team’s offense, which was the NFL’s top unit last year, has struggled to find its rhythm without a consistent leader under center.
A Season of Setbacks
Starter Tua Tagovailoa, who signed a four-year, $212.1 million contract in the offseason, has been on injured reserve for the past four games after suffering a concussion in Week 2. Third-year quarterback Skylar Thompson initially filled in for Tagovailoa but was knocked out of the game against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3 with a rib injury and has not played since.
New Face Under Center
With Huntley sidelined, backup quarterback Tim Boyle took over the reins. Boyle, who was signed to the Dolphins’ active roster on Saturday, will look to provide a spark for the team’s struggling offense. Before his injury, Huntley completed 7 of 13 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown to tight end Jonnu Smith – his first passing TD of the season.
What’s Next for the Dolphins?
As the Dolphins navigate their quarterback woes, they will need to find a way to stabilize their offense and get back on track. With a tough schedule ahead, the team will be counting on its depth and resilience to overcome the challenges it faces. For now, the focus will be on getting healthy and finding a way to win despite the setbacks.
