Mike Perry’s Troubled Weekend: Arrested for DUI and Homophobic Slurs

A Fall from Grace

Mike Perry, the former UFC fighter and current Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) sensation, found himself in hot water over the weekend. The 33-year-old was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to sign a citation requiring a court appearance in his home state of Florida.

The Arrest

According to Lake County Sheriff’s Office online records, Perry was taken into custody by the Clermont Police Department in Clermont, Florida, in the early hours of October 12. He was booked at 4:36 a.m. and released on $1,500 bond at 9:41 a.m. the same morning.

Body Cam Footage Reveals Disturbing Behavior

TMZ Sports obtained body cam footage from the arresting officers, which showed Perry hurling homophobic slurs as he was handcuffed and placed in the back of a police car. The video reveals that Perry was informed he was traveling 20 mph over the speed limit and smelled like he had been drinking. When asked to step out of the vehicle, Perry denied being intoxicated and refused to take a sobriety test.

Verbal Confrontation

As Perry was being handcuffed, he yelled to his wife, Latory Gonzalez, that he was being arrested. When Gonzalez asked if the police knew who Perry was, he responded by calling the officers homophobic slurs and became verbally combative.

Legal Troubles Ahead

Perry is scheduled to appear in court on October 30. This latest incident adds to his growing list of troubles, including a recent loss to Jake Paul in a boxing match and being “fired” by BKFC part-owner Conor McGregor.

A Glimmer of Hope?

However, McGregor addressed Perry’s standing with the bare-knuckle fighting promotion over the weekend, stating that Perry was still fired but is currently “in negotiation” to return to action. Only time will tell if Perry can turn his life and career around.
