Fantasy Hockey Rankings: Top Waiver Wire Targets

With the 2024-25 NHL season underway, it’s time to assess your fantasy hockey roster and identify areas for improvement. Our experts have analyzed the early performances of all 32 teams and highlighted a top waiver wire target from each club to help you strengthen your lineup.

Top 10 Waiver Wire Targets

  1. Logan Stankoven, F (DAL) – The rookie is contributing from various spots in the lineup, providing an assist on goals by five different teammates, including one on the power play.
  2. Will Cuylle, F (NYR) – With Reilly Smith being the only other likely available option, Cuylle offers more potential for hits and shots, making him a valuable pickup.
  3. Anthony Stolarz, G (TOR) – With a head start on an injured Joseph Woll, Stolarz is doing his best to create some early separation for the crease-share lead.
  4. Anton Lundell, F (FLA) – With Aleksander Barkov out, Lundell is a top-line center for the Panthers, playing alongside Sam Reinhart.
  5. Jake Allen, G (NJD) – Early returns suggest this will be a beneficial arrangement between Allen and Jacob Markstrom, making Allen worth having on daily-lineup rosters.
  6. Gabriel Vilardi, F (WPG) – As long as he remains a fixture on the Jets’ top line and power play, Vilardi will put up impressive scoring numbers.
  7. Ilya Samsonov, G (VGK) – You can bet Samsonov intends to challenge Adin Hill for the starter’s gig with one of the better teams in the West.
  8. Pavel Zacha, F (BOS) – Zacha held on to his role as linemate to David Pastrnak, splitting faceoff duties on the top line with Elias Lindholm.
  9. J.J. Moser, D (TBL) – Victor Hedman’s new defense partner plays a physical game and will be due a ton of ice time thanks to his running mate.
  10. Viktor Arvidsson, F (EDM) – As long as coach Kris Knoblauch is sticking with Arvidsson in his top six, fantasy managers in deeper leagues should do the same.
