Midseason Madness: The Top 25 Players in College Football
Seven weeks into the 2024 college football season, and some of our preseason predictions have turned out to be laughable. Injuries, upsets, and breakout performances have shaken up the landscape. It’s time to reassess and crown the new kings of the gridiron.
The Top 25
- Nick Nash, WR, San José State – The nation’s leader in receptions and receiving touchdowns has been a force to be reckoned with, hauling in 62 catches for 806 yards and 10 TDs.
- Nohl Williams, DB, Cal – With six interceptions and three pass breakups, Williams has been a lockdown corner, making offenses pay dearly for throwing his way.
- Harold Fannin Jr., TE, Bowling Green – Fannin’s 50 receptions, 701 yards, and five TDs have made him one of the most productive tight ends in the country.
- Abdul Carter, DE, Penn State – Carter’s 15 solo tackles, four sacks, and one forced fumble have made him a dominant force on the Nittany Lions’ defense.
- Deone Walker, DT, Kentucky – This 6-foot-6, 345-pound behemoth has made 20 tackles, including six solo stops, and has been a one-man wrecking crew in the Wildcats’ defensive trenches.
- Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama – Milroe’s dual-threat abilities have earned him 1,483 passing yards, 12 TDs, and 11 rushing scores, making him one of the most dynamic players in the country.
- Kaleb Johnson, RB, Iowa – Johnson’s 937 rushing yards and 12 TDs have propelled the Hawkeyes’ run game, earning him a spot among the nation’s elite backs.
- Donovan Ezeiruaku, DE, Boston College – Ezeiruaku’s nine sacks, 14 QB hurries, and two forced fumbles have made him a terror for opposing offenses.
- Will Johnson, DB, Michigan – Johnson’s two interceptions, three pass breakups, and lockdown coverage have solidified his status as one of the top cornerbacks in the country.
- Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado – Sanders’ 2,018 passing yards, 17 TDs, and 70.6 QBR have made him a dark horse Heisman candidate.
- Kurtis Rourke, QB, Indiana – Rourke’s 1,752 passing yards, 14 TDs, and 91.9 QBR have led the Hoosiers to a surprising 6-0 start.
- Kyle Kennard, EDGE, South Carolina – Kennard’s 7.5 sacks, 11.5 TFL, and two forced fumbles have made him one of the most feared pass-rushers in the country.
- Mason Graham, DL, Michigan – Graham’s 21 tackles, 11 solo stops, and 3.5 sacks have made him a dominant force in the Wolverines’ defensive trenches.
- Tyler Booker, OL, Alabama – Booker’s stellar play at left guard has allowed zero pressures, sacks, or quarterback hurries in 247 snaps.
- Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State – Smith’s 32 receptions, 553 yards, and seven TDs have made him an instant star in Columbus.
