Rebound Victory: Sydney Kings Overpower Tasmania JackJumpers
Bouncing Back from Adversity
The Tasmania JackJumpers were determined to put their record loss behind them, but the Sydney Kings had other plans. On Friday night in Launceston, the Kings staged a remarkable comeback to secure an 80-71 victory, leaving the JackJumpers with a 2-4 record.
A Rocky Start for the Kings
Sydney struggled in the first half, committing 13 turnovers and finding themselves 16 points down against the JackJumpers. However, they regrouped and refocused, led by the impressive Xavier Cooks, who notched 15 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and three blocks.
Turning the Tide
The Kings’ resurgence was marked by a dominant second half, where they restricted Tasmania to a mere 26 points. This impressive turnaround earned them a nine-point victory, improving their record to 5-2. Meanwhile, the JackJumpers were left to ponder what could have been.
Resilience Personified
Tasmania has consistently demonstrated their ability to bounce back from disappointing performances. They fought hard to recover from Sydney’s strong start, forcing the Kings into nine turnovers and scoring nine points from those errors. The Kings’ Second-Half Surge
Sydney scored the last six points of the third term, narrowing the gap to just four points. They continued to push forward, outscoring Tasmania 47-26 in the second half. Despite conceding 21 turnovers and struggling with three-point shots (7-of-24), the Kings’ determination paid off.

Kouat Noi provided a crucial spark off the bench, scoring 14 points on 3-of-4 long-range shooting. Bul Kuol’s defensive prowess was on full display as he restricted Tasmania star Milton Doyle to eight points on 2-of-13 shooting. Alex Toohey added 12 points, eight rebounds, and three steals to the Kings’ tally.
