Ducks Shake Up Roster Ahead of Busy Week
The Anaheim Ducks have made some significant roster moves, recalling center Jansen Harkins from the San Diego Gulls of the AHL and placing left winger Frank Vatrano on the non-roster list. Vatrano is expecting the arrival of his new baby, and the team is giving him time to attend to this important personal matter.
Harkins Brings NHL Experience
Harkins, 27, is no stranger to the NHL, having played in 45 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins last season, where he recorded four assists. Over the course of five seasons, including four with the Winnipeg Jets, Harkins has accumulated an impressive 13 goals and 18 assists in 199 career games.
Vatrano Takes a Break
Vatrano, 30, has had a slow start to the season, with only one assist in three games. However, his overall NHL career is nothing to sneeze at, with 160 goals and 112 assists in 567 games across four teams, including the Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers, New York Rangers, and Ducks.
Lundestrom Sidelined with Injury
Meanwhile, center Isac Lundestrom is dealing with an upper-body injury sustained during Wednesday’s 5-4 overtime victory over the Utah Hockey Club. The 24-year-old has had a promising start to the season, with one goal in three games, and has accumulated 32 goals and 38 assists in 261 career games over seven seasons with the Ducks. His status is currently day-to-day.
A Busy Week Ahead
With these roster changes, the Ducks are gearing up for a busy week ahead. Will Harkins be able to make an impact on the ice? Can the team adjust to Vatrano’s temporary absence? And how will Lundestrom’s injury affect the team’s dynamics? Only time will tell.
