United Boost: Mazraoui Returns to Training After Heart Procedure
Manchester United received a welcome boost this week as defender Noussair Mazraoui resumed training following a heart procedure. The 26-year-old underwent corrective surgery after experiencing palpitations during the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa before the international break.
A Familiar Issue
Mazraoui’s heart issue is not new; he faced a similar problem during his time at Bayern Munich. However, the full-back’s swift return to training has raised hopes that he might be available for Saturday’s clash with Brentford at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag’s Squad Takes Shape
Erik ten Hag’s first-team squad at Carrington was bolstered by the return of Alejandro Garnacho and Amad, who withdrew from international duty with Argentina and Ivory Coast respectively. Both players are expected to be fit to face Brentford.
Injury Update
Not all the news is positive, however. Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo will both miss the game against Brentford. Maguire was substituted at halftime during the Villa Park match, wearing a protective boot, while Mainoo is struggling with an ongoing muscle issue. The club has confirmed that both players will be sidelined for a few weeks.
Recovery Road
Mason Mount and Luke Shaw were absent from training on Thursday as they continue their recoveries. Summer signing Manuel Ugarte also trained away from the main group after picking up an injury while playing for Uruguay during the break.
