Packers’ Jordan Love Unleashes Deep Bomb for Touchdown
GREEN BAY, Wis. – In a game that saw the Packers dominate the Cardinals, quarterback Jordan Love showcased his ability to stretch the field with a 44-yard touchdown pass to receiver Christian Watson.
A Change in Strategy
For most of the first half, Love had been playing it safe, averaging just 5.8 air yards per attempt. However, on the first play of a drive set up by a 39-yard punt return by Keisean Nixon, coach Matt LaFleur called a play-action shot that would change the course of the game.
The Big Play
Love dropped back and launched the ball 39.9 yards downfield, where Watson caught it just inside the Cardinals’ 5-yard line. The receiver walked in for a touchdown, putting the Packers up 24-0. This marked Love’s third touchdown pass of the half.
Love’s Impressive Streak Continues
With this performance, Love has now thrown multiple touchdown passes in eight consecutive games, dating back to last season. This is the longest active streak in the NFL, matching Joe Burrow’s eight-game streak in 2021.
Multiple Scoring Passes for Love
Before the Watson touchdown, Love had thrown scoring passes of 5 yards to receiver Jayden Reed and 10 yards to receiver Romeo Doubs, who returned from a one-game suspension. These plays highlighted Love’s ability to distribute the ball effectively to his receivers.
A Strong Showing for the Packers
The Packers’ dominant performance was capped off by Love’s impressive deep pass to Watson. As the team looks to continue its winning ways, Love’s ability to stretch the field will be crucial in their future success.
