Rams Wide Receiver Cooper Kupp Nears Return to Action

Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay announced that wide receiver Cooper Kupp will undergo a crucial workout on Monday to determine his readiness to practice and potentially play against the Las Vegas Raiders. Kupp has been sidelined since Week 2 with an ankle sprain.

A Big Day Ahead for Kupp

Monday’s workout will be a significant milestone in Kupp’s recovery process. The training staff will put him through a series of “game-like movements” and running routes to assess his progress. McVay expressed optimism about Kupp’s chances of returning to action soon, stating that he is “making good progress.”

Return to Performance, Not Just Play

McVay emphasized the importance of ensuring Kupp is fully ready to perform at his best before allowing him to return to the field. The coach noted that Kupp “knows what it looks like to have his body in alignment to return to performance, not just return to play.” The Rams want to be cautious and avoid rushing Kupp back too quickly.

Other Injury Updates

In addition to Kupp, tackle Joe Noteboom may also be nearing a return to practice. Noteboom has a “big workout scheduled” on Monday that could lead to the Rams starting his 21-day practice window. However, wide receiver Puka Nacua (PCL sprain) and offensive lineman Steve Avila (MCL sprain) are not expected to return from injured reserve this week.

Kupp’s Season So Far

In two games this season, Kupp has recorded 18 catches for 147 yards and a touchdown. His return would provide a significant boost to the Rams’ offense as they look to turn their season around.
