The City of Angels has a fresh new look! The Los Angeles Lakers have officially revealed their highly anticipated City Edition uniforms for the 2024-25 season. Dubbed “The California Destiny,” this sleek design is an evolution of last season’s “California Dream” concept, which celebrated the team’s rich history since relocating to LA.
According to the Lakers, this season’s City Edition design embodies the team’s reputation for winning with flair and panache. “Ooooooh Lake Show!” indeed! The new uniforms boast several innovative features, including the “Lake Show” moniker emblazoned across the chest, a gradient effect that transitions from black to purple, and a unique trim on each player’s uniform.
The “Lake Show” nickname is a nod to the Eddie Jones and Nick Van Exel teams of the 1990s, while the gradient effect represents the franchise’s remarkable transformation in LA over the past 65 years. The gold stitching on the numbers pays homage to the dazzling lights of the Crypto.com Arena court, complete with a drop shadow detail reminiscent of the team’s championship-winning era from 1999 to 2017.
The jersey pant belt features a championship banner with the inspiring phrase “Leave A Legacy” – a slogan the Lakers have used in the past, including during their triumphant 2020 NBA playoffs campaign. Mark your calendars for November 21st, when the Lakers will debut their new uniforms against the Orlando Magic, accompanied by a special court design that’s sure to dazzle. Get ready to experience the California Destiny!
