**Concerns Grow Over 2030 World Cup Hosting Rights**
National team coach, Luis de la Fuente, has expressed his concerns over reports that the country may lose its hosting rights for the 2030 World Cup due to the ongoing leadership crisis within the national football federation.
With FIFA set to ratify the hosting rights for Spain, Portugal, and Morocco at its Congress meeting in December, the international governing body has demanded that a new federation president be elected within the next three months.
“How can we not be worried?” de la Fuente asked. “Losing the World Cup would have significant implications for football, the economy, and the country as a whole.”
The national federation has been without a president since July, following a two-year suspension of its former leader, Pedro Rocha, by the national Sports Council.
De la Fuente emphasized the need for stability within the federation, stating, “We must do everything in our power to find normalcy and ensure we can host the World Cup as planned, with the iconic Bernabéu stadium as the proposed venue.”
In other news, de la Fuente announced his squad for the upcoming Nations League games against Denmark and Serbia, which will be without key midfielder Rodri, who suffered a serious injury while playing for Manchester City.
“We wish Rodri a speedy recovery,” de la Fuente said. “Although he’s expected to be out for several months, I’m confident he’ll reduce that time due to his incredible spirit.”
