Arsenal Star Declares This Season as the One for Glory
Following a convincing 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, Arsenal’s rising star Bukayo Saka expressed his confidence that this season will be the one where the team breaks through and claims a major title. Saka’s goal, along with Kai Havertz’s strike, propelled the Gunners into the top eight of the Champions League league phase table, securing a spot in the round of 16.
The North London club has come agonizingly close to success in recent years, finishing as runners-up in the Premier League in the last two seasons and failing to lift a major trophy since the 2019-20 FA Cup win. However, Saka believes that the team’s hunger and determination have reached new heights, and he is eager to take the final step towards achieving success.
“I don’t want to put too much pressure on us, but I genuinely believe this is the year,” Saka said. “We’ve been so close in the past, and I can sense that we’re getting closer. This season, I have an insatiable hunger to win, and I’m confident in my abilities. When you combine that with the team’s belief in ourselves, it’s a potent mix.”
Manager Mikel Arteta echoed Saka’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of defeating a top-tier European team like PSG. “Beating a team of PSG’s caliber raises our confidence and shows that we can compete with anyone at any level,” Arteta said. “We demonstrated a lot of maturity in our performance and showed our stamp on how we want to approach big games in Europe.”
Arteta also provided an update on defender Jurriën Timber, who was substituted at halftime due to a muscular issue. “We’re not sure what the extent of the problem is, but we didn’t want to take any risks. Given his history of injuries, we need to manage his workload carefully,” Arteta explained.
The win over PSG has injected new life into Arsenal’s campaign, and Saka’s declaration has set the tone for a season that promises to be filled with excitement and anticipation. Can the Gunners finally break through and claim the silverware that has eluded them for so long? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain – this season will be one to remember.
