The Toronto Raptors Unveil Nostalgic Uniforms for Upcoming Season
In celebration of their 30th anniversary, the Toronto Raptors have revealed their Classic Edition uniforms for the 2024-25 season. This iconic jersey is a nod to the team’s 1999-2003 era, which saw the rise of legendary players Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady.
The uniforms feature a bold purple front with “Toronto” emblazoned in white lettering, accented with a striking red trim. The back of the jersey boasts the same lettering details, but with a sleek black primary hue. The Raptors took to social media to showcase their new look, with fans eagerly responding to the nostalgic design.
This marks the first time since the 2019-20 season that the Raptors will don a ’90s throwback jersey. The franchise previously wore their original home edition jerseys during that season.
The uniforms pay homage to Vince Carter’s electrifying stint with the team, during which he earned the nickname “Air Canada.” Carter’s impressive skills on the court, including his memorable 360-degree windmill dunk, cemented his status as a fan favorite. The Raptors will retire his jersey on November 2 against the Sacramento Kings, a testament to his enduring legacy.
