**HOLY SH*T! Skinns Unleashes Epic 60 to Seize Sanderson Farms Lead**

In Jackson, Mississippi, a stunning display of golfing prowess unfolded at the Country Club of Jackson as England’s David Skinns set a new personal best and course record with an astonishing 12-under 60, taking the lead in the prestigious tournament. Despite falling short of a coveted 59, Skinns’ remarkable performance left him with a three-shot advantage over Michael Thorbjornsen.

Skinns’ incredible round was marked by six birdies on the back nine and six more on the front, with a thrilling finale that saw him narrowly miss a 9-foot birdie putt on his final hole. Though disappointed, Skinns chose to focus on his mental toughness and attacking mindset, which he believes will serve him well in the days ahead.

This tournament holds significant importance, as it is one of eight PGA Tour events that determine the 125 players who will retain their full card for next year. Skinns, currently ranked 108, has taken a major step towards securing his spot with this impressive performance.

Gary Woodland, a former U.S. Open champion, carded a bogey-free 64 to share second place with Ben Griffin, while Rickie Fowler, playing for the first time since the British Open, fought back from a difficult start to record a 69. Fowler, ranked 110, still has a year of full exemption courtesy of his Rocket Mortgage Classic win last year.

Skinns’ exceptional round was characterized by his ability to recover from wayward drives, making birdies from unlikely positions. He also sank two long birdie putts, including a 55-footer, and five others outside 10 feet. The English golfer acknowledged the importance of capitalizing on his opportunities, saying, “Great to see a couple go in that maybe some days don’t.”

Matt McCarty, making his PGA Tour debut, opened with a solid 66, while Mackenzie Hughes, Lucas Glover, and Patton Kizzire were among a large group tied at 67. Hughes, who won the Sanderson Farms Championship two years ago, is determined to build on his recent Presidents Cup debut and secure a spot in the top 60 of the FedEx Cup rankings.
