**HALFWAY HEROINES: THE 7 BADDEST BITCHES IN THE AFLW RIGHT NOW**

As we reach the midpoint of the 2024 season, the top eight teams are starting to take shape, and the bottom teams are already planning their off-season breaks. It’s the perfect time to assess the top performers across the league. After analyzing the stats of 540 players from 18 teams, I’ve narrowed it down to my top seven players of Season 9 so far.

Leading the pack is Jasmine Garner, a consistent powerhouse who dominates games with her exceptional football IQ. Averaging 27.5 disposals and 5.8 clearances per game, Garner is a threat to defenders everywhere. Her impressive stats include 4.8 score involvements, 7.2 tackles, and 20 pressure acts per game.

Ebony Marinoff is another standout player, averaging 29.4 disposals and 530 meters gained per game. This Adelaide Crows star is known for her impressive kicking skills, often opting to kick over handball. Marinoff’s defensive pressure is also noteworthy, with 10.4 tackles per game.

Charlie Rowbottom is a force to be reckoned with, averaging 31.4 disposals – 19.2 of which are contested. This 21-year-old Gold Coast Suns player is a nightmare for opponents, with her strength and power allowing her to dominate games.

Ash Riddell is a ball magnet, averaging 30.5 disposals per game. Her endurance and work ethic set her apart, making her a key cog in North Melbourne’s success. Riddell’s relentless running capacity means she’s always in the right place to impact the play.

Monique Conti is a joy to watch, with the ball seemingly on a string. This Richmond Tigers star averages 26.2 disposals, 427 meters gained, 6 tackles, and 4 score involvements per game. Conti’s explosive burst from contests and ability to evade opponents make her a valuable asset to her team.

Ally Anderson is a top-tier player who has led from the front for the Brisbane Lions. Averaging 28.8 disposals, 6 clearances, and 5.5 tackles per game, Anderson is still criminally underrated despite her impressive stats.

Last but not least, Aine McDonagh has been instrumental in Hawthorn’s rise this season. This Irish forward sits third in the competition for goal kicking and is Hawthorn AFLW’s all-time leading goal scorer. McDonagh’s tall forward presence provides her midfielders with every opportunity to hit a target after a clearance, making her a vital part of her team’s success.
