This fall, the excitement of college hockey returns, and fans will have unprecedented access to the action. A staggering 800+ games will be broadcast across multiple platforms, culminating in the thrilling men’s and women’s national championship showdowns.
The men’s Frozen Four is set to take place on April 10 and 12 in St. Louis, where reigning champion Denver will look to defend its title. Meanwhile, the women’s Frozen Four will be held on March 21 and 23 in Minneapolis, with Ohio State seeking to retain its crown.
Starting in October, hundreds of games will stream live, featuring teams from Hockey East and the ECAC. The schedule includes a mix of nonconference and conference matchups, ensuring that fans won’t miss a moment of the action.
Several teams are poised to make a strong impact this season. Denver tops the men’s preseason poll, followed closely by Boston College and Boston University. In the ECAC, Quinnipiac and Cornell are ranked among the top 10, having both advanced to the regional finals last year.
On the women’s side, teams from the Midwest dominate the top spots, with Wisconsin, Minnesota, Minnesota Duluth, and Ohio State leading the pack. The ECAC is well-represented, with Clarkson, Cornell, Colgate, and St. Lawrence filling the next four slots.
This season’s roster is filled with talented players to watch. Boston College boasts a pair of high-scoring NHL draft picks in Ryan Leonard and Gabe Perreault, while Boston University returns top pick Tom Willander and adds highly touted freshmen Cole Eiserman and Cole Hutson. Other top-round NHL draftees include Providence’s Trevor Connelly, Northeastern’s Cam Lund, UMass’s Aydar Suniev, Harvard’s Ben MacDonald, and Clarkson’s Ayrton Martino.
In the women’s ECAC, standout players include Colgate goaltender Hannah Murphy, Clarkson defenders Haley Winn and Nicole Gosling, and forwards Abby Hustler of St. Lawrence and Lily Delianedis of Cornell. With so much talent on display, this promises to be an unforgettable season of college hockey.
