**ROYALS FLUSH ORIOLES DOWN THE TOILET WITH SWEEPING VICTORY**

The Kansas City Royals pulled off a stunning sweep of the Baltimore Orioles in the AL Wild Card Series, advancing to the divisional round with a 2-1 victory on Wednesday. After a sluggish end to the regular season, which saw them drop nine of their last 13 games, the Royals caught fire at the right time to dispatch the Orioles, who have now lost an astonishing 10 consecutive postseason games.

In a lighthearted jab, the Royals’ social media team responded to a pre-series post from Baltimore, which had featured an empty throne with an oriole perched on it. The Royals cleverly photoshopped their star player, Bobby Witt Jr., onto the throne, accompanied by a caption referencing the iconic phrase from Omar Little, a character in the Baltimore-based TV series “The Wire.” The humorous graphic also included oriole feathers scattered on the ground.

Witt Jr. was instrumental in the Royals’ series victory, driving in the decisive runs in both Game 1 and Game 2. He finished the series with an impressive three hits and two RBIs. The Royals will now face off against the New York Yankees in Game 1 on Saturday, looking to continue their postseason momentum.
