The upcoming Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas is expected to draw a large crowd, with ticket sales surging after a shift in the championship’s competitive landscape. According to circuit boss, Bobby Epstein, the event has established itself as a fan favorite on the racing calendar.

This year’s race, taking place on October 21, will be a pivotal moment in the championship battle between current leader and reigning champion, Max Verstappen, and Lando Norris, who has been steadily closing the gap since his breakthrough victory earlier in the season.

Epstein attributes the increase in ticket sales to the more competitive nature of the season, saying, “Our fan base is highly engaged and knowledgeable, and they’re responding to the excitement of a tighter title race.” He praises the fans for being “tuned in” and “paying attention” to the season’s developments.

Verstappen, who dominated last year’s championship with a record 15 wins, has seen his lead dwindle to 52 points with six races remaining. The Austin event will be the first of the season without fan favorite Daniel Ricciardo, who has been replaced by Liam Lawson at Red Bull’s second team. Epstein hopes Ricciardo will still attend the race, saying, “He can still have a big impact out of the car, and we’d love to have him involved in some capacity.” The Texan crowd adores Ricciardo, and Epstein believes he can still connect with fans and make a meaningful contribution to the event.
