In a thrilling display of dominance, Brazilian fighter Renato Moicano emerged victorious in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Paris, defeating French contender Benoît Saint Denis by doctor’s stoppage after two grueling rounds.
Moicano unleashed a relentless assault on Saint Denis from the opening bell, utilizing his superior ground game to devastating effect. The French crowd at the Accor Arena was left stunned as Saint Denis struggled to withstand the onslaught, his face rapidly swelling and bloodying under the barrage of punches and elbows.
Despite a valiant effort in the second round, Saint Denis’ early struggles had already taken their toll. With his right eye swollen shut and his left eye rapidly deteriorating, the cageside doctor intervened before the start of the third round, deeming Saint Denis unfit to continue due to his severely impaired vision.
With this impressive victory, Moicano extends his winning streak to four fights, solidifying his position as a top contender in the lightweight division. In a bold post-fight statement, Moicano called out two prominent opponents, declaring, “I’m looking for easy money – Paddy Pimblett and Dan Hooker. I don’t want tough fights; I want easy wins.”
Saint Denis, meanwhile, suffers his second consecutive loss, having previously fallen to Dustin Poirier in March. This setback is likely to impact his standing in the lightweight rankings, as he struggles to regain momentum in his career.
