In a setback for the home team, star wideout Christian Jackson suffered a left ankle injury during the second quarter of Sunday’s matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. The incident occurred when Jackson attempted to snag a pass from quarterback Ryan Thompson, only to be intercepted by Vikings defender Marcus Hall. As Jackson tried to make the catch, his left leg twisted awkwardly beneath him.
After receiving medical attention on the field, Jackson was able to walk off under his own power, but was later carted to the locker room for further evaluation. The injury marks a significant blow to the team’s offense, which had been relying heavily on Jackson’s skills in the early going.
Thompson, who had previously missed two games due to a knee injury, struggled to find his rhythm in the first half, throwing his second interception of the season. The team trailed 28-7 at halftime, managing to score only once – a 16-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Eric Martin with mere seconds left in the second quarter.
