Top-flight midfielder opens up about ankle woes, refutes salary rumors
A talented 27-year-old midfielder has spoken candidly about the emotional toll of repeated ankle injuries, which have kept him sidelined for months. The Dutch international has been out of action since April, missing crucial games for both his club and country.
In a recent interview, the midfielder expressed the frustration and disappointment that comes with being unable to participate in the sport he loves. “It’s been a really tough process,” he admitted. “When you can’t play big games, when you miss important tournaments and many games with your club, it’s really hard, really difficult.”
The player’s prolonged absence has sparked speculation about his salary and whether he opted against undergoing surgery to address his ankle issues. However, he categorically denied these claims, stating that the decision to forgo surgery was a collective one made with his club’s medical staff.
“I understand the frustrations because throughout my recovery I have chosen to stay silent,” he explained. “But then things come out that are not true, like I don’t want surgery, that I earn loads of money. That’s a very big figure and is a long way off what I really earn.”
After months of rehabilitation, the midfielder is finally nearing a return to action. He has been training with his club’s first team and is expected to make his comeback soon. His team, currently leading their domestic league, faces a challenging schedule in the coming weeks, with crucial matches against top opponents.
Despite the setbacks, the midfielder remains committed to his craft, eager to put his ankle troubles behind him and get back to doing what he loves most – playing football.
