On Friday, a dominant display by AC Milan saw them cruise to a 3-0 victory over Lecce in Italy’s top division. The win was fueled by a remarkable streak from star player Christian Pulisic, who scored in his fifth consecutive game for both club and country.
Pulisic’s 43rd-minute strike marked his fourth goal in as many games for Milan, adding to his impressive tally this season. The American’s fine form has seen him become a key contributor for the Rossoneri, with 32 goals and assists since joining the team last year.
The match turned in Milan’s favor just before halftime, as Álvaro Morata headed in the opener from a Theo Hernández free kick. Hernández then doubled the lead two minutes later, firing the ball into the roof of the net from a tight angle. Pulisic sealed the win with his goal, putting Milan up 3-0 at the break.
Despite a late red card for Davide Bartesaghi, Milan held on for the win, moving them to 11 points and joint top of the league alongside Torino. Coach Paulo Fonseca praised his team’s performance, but emphasized the need for continued improvement.
The defeat leaves Lecce struggling in fourth from bottom place, with just one win and five points from their first six games. Milan will look to carry their momentum into next week’s Champions League clash against Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.
