**Surprising Leaders Emerge in the Indian Super League**
After two weeks of intense action, the Indian Super League standings have thrown up some unexpected leaders. Bengaluru FC, Punjab FC, and Jamshedpur FC are currently tied at the top with two wins each.
In a thrilling encounter, Kerala Blasters came from behind to defeat East Bengal 2-1. Noah Sadaoui’s stunning equalizer sparked a dramatic turnaround, with Kwame Peprah eventually scoring the winner. The Blasters’ performance in the final 30 minutes was a testament to their determination and pressure.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru FC’s Sunil Chhetri became the ISL’s all-time top scorer with his 63rd goal in the competition, helping his team to a 3-0 victory over Hyderabad FC. Chhetri’s speed of mind and ability to occupy spaces made him a constant threat to the opposition.
Jamshedpur FC’s no-frills approach has proven effective so far, with their solid defense and clinical finishing up front making them a force to be reckoned with. Hyderabad FC, despite their loss, showed signs of being a well-coached side with a promising season ahead.
FC Goa, Mumbai City FC, and Odisha FC are still searching for their first win, with each team having only three points between them. Manolo Marquez’s Goa were fortunate to escape with a 1-1 draw against Mohammedan Sporting, while Mumbai City were outmaneuvered by Jamshedpur. Odisha FC’s lackluster performance against Punjab FC has left them with plenty to ponder.
Young Indian attackers Nihal Sudeesh and Leon Augustine have made a promising start to the season, with both players showing composure in front of goal. Their contributions have been instrumental in Punjab FC’s excellent start to the campaign.
Mohun Bagan’s Jose Molina breathed a sigh of relief as Jason Cummings’s late winner secured a hard-fought victory over NorthEast United. However, Molina knows his team cannot continue to concede goals at their current rate and will be looking for improvements in the coming weeks.
