**Dolphins Name New Starting Quarterback for Monday Night Showdown**

In a move announced by Coach Mike McDaniel on Saturday, Tyler Huntley will take the reins as starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins’ Monday night game against the Tennessee Titans. The decision comes after Skylar Thompson was sidelined with a rib injury during last week’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

McDaniel expressed confidence in Huntley’s abilities, citing his experience starting multiple big games in the past. “Snoop” Huntley, as he’s known, has demonstrated an impressive understanding of what it takes to win over teammates and assert his own personality within the offense.

The Dolphins signed Huntley off the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad last week, following Tua Tagovailoa’s placement on injured reserve with a concussion. The South Florida native is relishing the opportunity to start for his hometown team, despite the challenge of quickly learning a complex offense.

Huntley has started nine games in four seasons, throwing for 1,957 yards and eight touchdowns against seven interceptions, while also adding 503 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground. His ability to extend plays with his legs is seen as a valuable asset to the struggling offense.

Teammates have praised Huntley’s work ethic and quiet confidence, with wide receiver Tyreek Hill saying, “I love Snoop… He’s a special talent. The only thing – we’ve got a lot of things that go into this offense.”

The Dolphins will face additional challenges on Monday, with starting left tackle Terron Armstead and cornerback Kendall Fuller both in concussion protocol. Running back Raheem Mostert is considered a long shot to play, while linebacker David Long will likely be a game-time decision.
