Get ready to cheer on your favorite teams! In a recent interview, the CEO of American Soccer Federation, JT Batson, shed light on the details behind the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as the new head coach of the US men’s national team.
Mark your calendars for November 18, when Pochettino will lead the team in his first Concacaf Nations League match at Citypark in St. Louis. This highly anticipated game will be Pochettino’s inaugural home match in an official competition. Prior to that, the team will face off against Panama on October 12 in Austin, Texas, and Mexico on October 15 in Guadalajara, in a pair of friendly matches.
The Nations League game will take place at Citypark, the state-of-the-art stadium that opened its doors for the 2023 Major League Soccer season. The first leg of the two-match series is scheduled for November 14 or 15, with the opponent to be determined by the group stage matches in October.
As the reigning champions of the tournament, having won the title in 2021, ’23, and ’24, Pochettino is determined to defend the title and instill a winning mentality in the team. “This competition is crucial in our preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup,” he emphasized.
