In a recent matchup, the Los Angeles Chargers faced off against the Pittsburgh Steelers, resulting in a slew of injuries that may impact their upcoming game against the Kansas City Chiefs. One of the most significant blows came when rookie right tackle Joe Alt suffered an MCL sprain in the fourth quarter. According to sources, Alt is likely to miss the next game, adding to the growing list of Chargers injuries.
Quarterback Justin Herbert also left the game in the third quarter, aggravating a high right ankle sprain that had him walking in a boot afterwards. Fortunately, X-rays revealed no further damage, but his status for the next game remains uncertain. Coach Jim Harbaugh defended his decision to play Herbert despite the injury, citing the importance of giving his players a chance to perform.
The Chargers also saw outside linebacker Joey Bosa exit the game early due to a hip injury, while left tackle Rashawn Slater suffered a pectoral injury in the third quarter. With their top two tackles and backup quarterback potentially sidelined, the team’s depth will be put to the test. However, the upcoming bye in Week 5 may provide a much-needed respite for the injured players to recover without missing additional games.
