**Ravens Bolster Defense with Veteran Pass Rusher**
The Baltimore Ravens have made a surprise move to strengthen their defense, adding a seasoned outside linebacker to their practice squad. The 29-year-old veteran, who boasts an impressive 69 career sacks, is returning to the Ravens, where he previously played in 2020.
Despite the team’s strong start to the season, with 10 sacks in three games, ranking ninth in the NFL, the addition of this experienced pass rusher is expected to bring a new level of depth to the Ravens’ young defense. The team’s top four pass rushers are all under the age of 25, making the veteran’s presence a welcome addition.
In his previous stint with the Ravens, the linebacker played nine games, recording 11 tackles and three sacks. He went on to play for the Raiders and, most recently, the Chicago Bears, where he signed a one-year, $10.5 million contract to help revamp the team’s struggling pass rush.
During his 13-game stint with the Bears, the veteran pass rusher notched 4 sacks, 7 quarterback hits, and 22 tackles before suffering an ankle injury that landed him on injured reserve. Throughout his eight-year NFL career, he has consistently demonstrated his ability to pressure quarterbacks, posting at least eight sacks in each of his first seven seasons.
With this move, the Ravens are looking to capitalize on the veteran’s wealth of experience and skill, bolstering their defense as they push forward into the season.
