**Singapore Grand Prix Recap: Norris Takes Victory Amid Controversy**
The Marina Bay circuit witnessed a thrilling Singapore Grand Prix, with Lando Norris claiming a convincing win ahead of Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri. However, the real drama unfolded off the track, as a rear wing controversy surrounding the championship leaders sparked intense debate.
Following the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, footage emerged showing the wing flexing at high speed, prompting speculation about a potential “mini-DRS” drag reduction effect. As a result, the team agreed to modify the wing for future races after discussions with the governing body.
Team principal Andrea Stella downplayed the significance of the issue, labeling it a “red herring” that distracted from the real competition. “Making changes is transparent for us, so we might as well do it,” Stella explained. “It won’t have a significant impact on performance.”
Stella saw the attention on his team’s rear wing as a blessing in disguise, suggesting that rivals were wasting valuable time and energy chasing a false lead. “Formula 1 is a game of margins, and when I see other teams focusing on us, it means they’re not focusing on themselves,” he said.
On the track, Norris dominated the race, crossing the finish line 20.945 seconds ahead of Verstappen. Piastri, who started fifth, secured a podium finish, helping McLaren extend their lead in the constructors’ championship to 41 points over Red Bull. Despite Verstappen’s 52-point lead in the drivers’ championship, Stella remains optimistic about his team’s chances. “The mission is still on,” he declared.
