As I watched my alma mater take on a powerhouse program, my emotions were running high. When the referees made a questionable call on a crucial field goal, I was livid. I wanted justice served, and I wanted it immediately. But as I took a step back and looked at the replay, I realized that even with multiple angles, it was impossible to say for certain whether the kick was good or not. The referee standing under the goalpost was the only one with a clear view.
It got me thinking – why don’t we have technology in place to review field goals? It might not be a common occurrence, but when it does happen, it’s crucial to get it right. A simple solution could be to install a camera pointing upwards at the crossbar and upright, or even use laser technology to determine whether the ball crosses the plane. It’s not rocket science, and I’m sure someone out there could make it happen.
In the end, the field goal didn’t end up being the deciding factor in the game. My team’s mistakes and questionable coaching decisions ultimately led to their downfall. However, I was impressed by the performance of one player in particular – Harold Fannin Jr., a junior tight end who’s destined for greatness in the NFL. He’s a force to be reckoned with, and I’m predicting big things for him in the future.
As for the game itself, I still believe that a late hit that wasn’t called two plays later was the real injustice. But I’ll take any opportunity to talk about my beloved team, even if it means sneaking in a plug for their football program.
