**Reliability Rankings: Your Guide to Consistent Performers**
Updated September 24, covering Weeks 1-3 of the 2024 season, this article provides a comprehensive analysis of player performance over the past 39 weeks, spanning the 2022, 2023, and 2024 seasons.
Using a standardized scoring system, we’ve evaluated players based on their consistency and reliability. For defensive players, our scoring system awards points as follows: solo tackle (1.5), assisted tackle (0.75), tackle for loss (2), sack (4), interception (5), forced fumble (4), fumble recovery (4), touchdown (6), safety (2), and pass defended (1.5).
To help you navigate the charts below, here’s a breakdown of the key terms and column headers:
**Start Percentage**: The frequency at which a player earned a starting spot in a standard points-per-reception (PPR) league, calculated by dividing their number of “starts” by their total scheduled games.
**Consistency Rating (CR)**: A measure of a player’s weekly performance variation, calculated by dividing their standard deviation by their average PPR fantasy points per game. Lower numbers indicate greater consistency.
**Non-PPR Start Percentage (nPPR%)**: The start percentage using standard scoring settings without points per reception.
**Fantasy Points Per Game (FPTS/G)**: A player’s average PPR fantasy points scored per game.
**Starts**: The number of times a player’s point total justified having them in the starting lineup.
**Stars**: The number of times a player’s point total ranked among the top performers at their position.
**Stiffs**: The number of times a player’s point total ranked among the worst at their position, making alternative options more appealing.
To determine whether a performance qualifies as a “start,” “star,” or “stiff,” we use the following benchmarks:
