The Ultimate Pitch Challenge: A Journey to the Top
Five months ago, I embarked on an ambitious quest to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Major League Baseball game. But I didn’t just want to toss the ball; I wanted to prove that with dedication and perseverance, anything is possible. I set out to throw a strike at every level of baseball, from Tee Ball to the pros.
The journey took me on a 150-day road trip across the Midwest, visiting Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. I faced numerous challenges and setbacks, but my determination never wavered.
Now, as the baseball season comes to a close and football takes center stage, I’m thrilled to announce that my hard work has paid off. On Saturday night, I’ll be taking the mound to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Guardians vs. Rays game. The 6:10 ET start will be a moment I’ll never forget, and I’m honored to be representing my favorite team, the one I’ve supported since childhood.
To those who doubted me, I say that it’s not about who did it first; it’s about staying committed to your goals and seeing them through. I went from teaching 7th grade to achieving my dream, and I hope my story inspires others to chase their passions.
After Saturday, I’ll return to what I love – sharing my thoughts on Ohio State and Michigan football. But for now, I’m savoring this incredible moment and proving that with hard work, anything is possible.
