**Yordan Alvarez Bails with Freaking Knee Bruise**

**Injury Woes Strike Houston’s Star Outfielder**

In a thrilling matchup against the Los Angeles Angels, Houston’s star outfielder Yordan Alvarez was forced to exit the game due to a right knee contusion. The incident occurred in the third inning when Alvarez slid into second base after hitting a double. As he stood up, he appeared to be in significant pain, bending over and putting his hands on his knees.

The training staff and manager Joe Espada rushed to Alvarez’s side to assess the situation. Despite attempting to walk off the injury, Alvarez continued to show signs of distress, clutching his knees and head in pain. An MRI was scheduled to take place after the game.

Alvarez’s replacement, Mauricio Dubon, took over in the lineup, but not before Alvarez had already made his mark on the game, going 2-for-2 with a single and a double. This impressive performance came on the heels of a stellar game the previous day, where Alvarez went 4-for-4 with a home run in a 10-4 victory over the Angels.

As the season winds down, Alvarez’s injury is a significant blow to the team. He currently leads the Astros in batting average (.305), home runs (35), and RBIs (86). The team can only hope for a speedy recovery as they prepare to face off against the Seattle Mariners in a three-game series starting Monday.

In other injury news, outfielder Chas McCormick, who has been sidelined since September 11 with a fractured right hand, is expected to start swinging a bat on Monday. Unfortunately, outfielder Ben Gamel’s season is likely over due to a fractured left fibula. Despite these setbacks, the Astros remain focused on clinching the AL West title, which they can achieve with a win in the upcoming series against Seattle.
