I’m still in awe of the incredible experiences that come my way. To be honest, Green Bay, Wisconsin wasn’t exactly on my bucket list, but sometimes the most unexpected places lead to the most unforgettable adventures. A few months ago, the staff of the Green Bay Booyah, a summer collegiate baseball team, reached out to invite me to a game. I jumped at the opportunity to explore a new city and meet new faces. With the season winding down, we settled on a crisp autumn evening, September 15th.
The Booyah team rolled out the red carpet, sending a representative to pick me up from Chicago in their sleek team vehicle. We navigated through the scenic countryside, stopping for a delicious lunch at a local favorite, Kopp’s Frozen Custard. Upon arrival at the stadium, I was treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of the state-of-the-art facilities. Then, it was time to take the mound and throw out the ceremonial first pitch! I was thrilled with my effort, and the crowd’s energy was electric.
But the excitement didn’t stop there. I got to blast foam cheese curds into the stands using the “Cheese-a-Tron,” a Wisconsin twist on a classic carnival game. The thrill of racing go-karts around the track was exhilarating, and I made sure to sample the mouth-watering concessions throughout the stadium. The warm hospitality of the Booyah staff and fans left a lasting impression. As the team gears up for the playoffs, I wish them all the best. Who knows where my next adventure will take me?
